Reversing beeper?

I'm not great with wiring diagrams, and mine doesn't emit any sound.  Can anyone tell me where the beeper inside the cabin for the rear parking radar is located??

First check, and sorry if I'm stating the obvious, have you turned the system on?  I know when I got my 159 that I thought the system may have been broken as no beeps.  But it just wasn't turned on.  I guess the previous owner didn't like the reverse sensors.

Button up on the interior lights (closest button to the driver, if I recall).  When in reverse it should be lit with a red LED.  If not, start there.

Hello and welcome!

Yes, the system is on, and the car tells you the system is malfunctioning.

The beeper diagnosis is by a respected specialist Alfa mechanic who will now have the opportunity to fix this next week along with the failed cabin fans (that'll be the resistor), and also the ongoing rear oxygen sensor issue that keeps triggering a 'check engine' alert.

What I am intrigued by is that the car's self-diagnostics are capable of detecting a beeper failure.

The usual malfunction is one or more of the rear sensors developing a fault/failing, but it also "sees" the beeper itself as well and will also report on it.

And yes, it is normal for the 159/Brera/Spider series to advise of a fault in the system.

Am about to trouble shoot one myself.

When you find out where the beeper is, do be a good chap and share, would be nice to know where it is, if I ever have to fishing for it.

This may help, see post #2 -

The mystery buzzer!   Something you hear all the time, but never bother to identify the source.  It's like the microphone for voice command of the audio, I tend to speak into the overhead console but have no idea if the microphones are actually located there.

Have to say I prefer the visual parking assist cues in my Mercedes.  When it beeps you're about to hit something.

Seb will find it!  He's already diagnosed the sensors as functioning.  I'll get the intel for you Bazz, along with the fault code for the oxygen sensor.

So, did we find the location of the elusive beeper?

Yes -- and no...

Quite logically, the beeper is located at the rear of the cabin.  Obvious in retrospect, but something you never think about.  Exactly where I don't know, and it'll take two people to work it out!  More to follow, over.
