Hello
I'm ready to replace my Carellos. I've got my US buckets in hand. Test fitting some Narva lights yesterday that I didn't like the look of I realise there is an issue with the parking light on the outside low beam light and clearance on the buckets. I've been told that US cars don't have parkers in the low beams but are separate.

Can someone who has actually used the US buckets on an Australian car tell me what they did about the parking lights please?

Hi John, I have lights with Parker's in my us buckets.  I have Cibie lights which are very good and I think you can still get them

John.Heidemann

Thanks Rowan. I'd love to know where they're available. I've been searching for Cibie but couldn't find them anywhere. I'm assuming if they suit the buckets they have the parking globe closer to the main bulb. The ones I looked at had the bulb quite close to the rim of the light and would have required major surgery on the bucket to allow them to fit.

Do you know where you got the Cibie lights from?

Hi John, I thought they were advertised on eBay a fair bit.  I bought mine 10 years ago.  I will try and get some photos showing the positioning of the bulb

Hi John, search " Cibie Valeo 82369 " for the standard units and " Cibie Valeo 82371 " for the version with "sidelights"

I found the 82369 on Amazon a couple of years back for $170 ( for two) and the 82371 from Demon Tweaks for $130 for two delivered. After a quick search it does look like they are thin on the ground at the moment....

Good luck

Thanks Rowan.  Now I just need to track them down.

Keep us informed of how you go. Headlights are my next upgrade. Where did you find the US buckets?

Where did you find the US buckets?
I purchased my first set of buckets from The Netherlands 12 months ago. I discovered when examining the part numbers that they weren't a complete set. There was another set on eBay in the US and this set had the chrome retaining rings so I bought that set too. They were also not a complete set but, between the two, I had a complete set of buckets and a complete set of the rings. I now have 2 inner left and 2 inner right buckets spare but I won't let them go until I'm finished, just in case.

The part numbers are important:

Low left: 07.222.021
Low right: 07.223.021
High left: 07.224.021

High right: 07.225.021

I went into this thinking it would be straightforward but the absence of RHD lights available to suit and the parking lamp in the low beams complicates it. I wasn't aware the US cars didn't have the parking light there so if you can't find a light that fits some modification will be necessary. It does suggest modifying the Carello housing to hold a different light may be a better option as you already have the hardware you need so no extra expense. Just requires that you (or someone) has the ability to complete the mod. It is a one way thing of course whereas the buckets should enable any further light changes to be "simple".

Hi Anth73,

If you are on Alfa BB message a member called "stefmiesterb", he has sourced a couple of sets of US headlight buckets and rings for me over the years - and he doesn't charge crazy prices!

Cheers, Keith

Another option is to use an adapter ring, as per pic. Purchased locally in Melb. 5 3/4" headlight fits perfectly and mounts using existing fittings

I haven't seen these before. Can you provide a little more detail about them and how they work? I can't see how you would align the lights.
