Help needed: Technical Specialist to fix old cassette deck/Stereo.

Hi everyone, I'm after a bit of advice please. I have an old Pioneer Cassette deck with the Alfa logo on it that needs a new cassette belt and probably a good service before I get it fitted. I cannot find anyone that knows what type of belt it needs. I've even tried Pioneer directly. I don't mind sending anywhere in Australia to get it sorted. Does anyone have any tips? Suggest you hunt around locally for an "old time" repairer of audio or electrical appliances - there are usually one or two in every city, either working form home workshop or some dingy shop.

Maybe ask around on FB - guarantee you'll find someone in your home town who can pull it apart and fix it.

I used a guy in Ringwood (Vic) called the 'Radio Tradesman' to fix a turntable. The guy just loves tinkering with audio gear. Found him on Gumtree. But guys like this have their idiosyncrasies- he wouldn't touch CD players. Might be the same with cassette players, but you never know

Maybe put a call out on Facebook and see if you can find some-one local. Maybe check with your local Autobarn- installers tend to know what's happening in their local market in relation to getting equipment fixed. They won't be able to do it but they may know some-one

Jaycar sell a bulk belt kit yih could buy that very cheap and fit one to size needs to be tight but not too tight try make sure same diameter as the wheel the rest should be serviced while out to ensure long term reliability
