Lithium battery

My 159's battery is close to dying again. We rarely drive the car and occasionally forget to put the charger on so it completely discharges.

I was thinking of switching to a lithium battery instead. Keen to hear thoughts and recommendations?

Apples aren't apples. It is not a direct changeover from lead acid to lithium. The latter requires a battery management system between the alternator and the battery. This is to control charge rate and temperature monitoring. Some lithium types have this built in -not all do.

Consult your local auto electrician workshop for the appropriate solution.

Lithium batteries won't handle the under-bonnet temperatures typical of an IC engined car.
Son works for Mazda Australia.  None of their hybrids use a Li-ion starter battery - all lead acid.
The wife's new Tonale has a lead acid starter battery!
