Just wondering what people do for limited production or older vehicle replacements. Pilkington UK can supply screens for all my cars including a Porsche 904 replica which I found astonishing but freight is the killer. Anyone successfully applied some clever lateral thinking and come up with a solution??

When I contacted the O'Briens/RACQ about a windscreen for the Duetto they said they can't get them, won't get them and would likely write the vehicle off.  Pushing them on this as it sounded silly (but I'm not insured with them), they gave me the number and address for the Co. that made them (Duetto) for Aust. and who still have the molds. I didn't follow this any further as I was very lucky to find a windscreen.

I'd suggest rechecking freight costs.  When I enquired direct to DHL Aust. for a retail price, collection from ClassicAlfa (in a specific cardboard windscreen box), it was actually quite reasonable ($3-400./ vs the $2.5K quoted by Alfaholics).
