HI there

I am quite new to Maintenace and repairs, so my knowledge isn't the most extensive when it comes to more specific questions. Currently, my handbrake in my Guilletta does not stay up when trying to pull the handbrake. I don't feel any clicks, and it will just fall down when I pull it up. The actual button does spring back up when i press it, and the handbrake does work when holding it up, it just doesn't stay up. I've seen some advice about having to tighten the cable, but I was hoping anyone had some insight into how to start troubleshooting what the issue could be. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated

It's unlikely to be the cable, the spring mechanism for holding the locking ratchet fails, I've had to replace a few of these for clients.

Unfortunately there is no real reliable way to fix them, so the hand brake handle assembly has to be replaced.

If you're in Brisbane & you'd like me to take care of it for you just give me a call, my details are below.
