Hello all... I am an addicted Alfa person... 105GTV (1973), Sprint (1986) and 147JTD (2007).

Some questions regarding the 147... it has done 95,000k in its short life (mainly open road) and I feel it is getting noisy in the transmission and the engine.

It has had complete dealer service... but the diesel seems to be getting even more tappy in sound. The transmission has acquired a slight whine.

Typical Alfa resale value is pretty crappy... so I would like to keep it... but seek advice about noises... and will hammer the dealer while still under warantee.

I would have thought the diesels would have a nice long life?

Any thoughts????

Thanks

Mark

Gees mate, problems with your 147 diesel at that level of kms seems a bit rich.  I have a JTS 156 Sportwagon with 98,000km on the clock and no problems with either the engine or gearbox.

From my experience diesels normally go for a hell of a long time without problems, but I am not familiar with the Alfa diesel.  I agree I would be definitely having a talk with the dealer in respect of your warantee.  Dave
