webber carby care and clean in out

have those beautifull twin webber carbys attached to a 1750 veloce motor,carbys with beautifull bologna written on top,would like some help,whats best for getting them shiny apart from wd40 are there any tricks that is easy and safe,plus whats best to clean interior jets the easy way,whats the best products,is just standard carby cleaner ok.ciao

i found them really hard to get proper sparkly, even when they were fully disassembled. i had to leave them soaking in our parts cleaner (a mixture of jet fuel, kerosene and various other goodies) for a week, and even then they still took a good hours scrubbing before i was happy. depends how dirty they are suppose.

At 30 or 40 dollars each, i reckon carby rebuild kits are the go. Nothing hard about it, you just have to be organised and patient.

and for the jets i used the parts washer again, (i use it for everything!), followed by a really good blow out with compressed air.

A can of gasket remover at $14 from Super Cheap does wonders in cleaning alloy and they don't need to be removed.
