Hi everyone
name Desman, Uni student in Melbourne, have owned a 2001 Alfa 156 for 6 months. I love this car just as I love my gf. (Though gf didn't agree, said 'you love alfa more than me coz you ride her a lot more...')

Very exciting finding this forum. Thanks to your guys, I have learned a lot from previous posts.

Car runs as new, with 180k on clock.Full service history. got it serviced when bought it from a chinese girl.

However, yesterday when I first started it, R gear was unable to engage.(1st gear is fine). So I switched off the engine, then restarted it, saw R on the dashboard LCD. so I shifted to N, then tried to engage R, but failed again. After 1 min, I started the engine once again, everything was fine. Driving as usual, no problem.

What happened? Need to do another service and change gear box oil? Or maybe pump or somthing more expensive is getting fauty?

Anyway, when I finish all my exams, I'll go to an indy alfa specialist and have her checked out.
