Hi all, this may save some of you time and money in regards to chasing this fuel starvation problem in the gtv6.
I have been tracking my gtv6 for about 5 years and it has always had a starvation problem whilst turning right at speed. In consultation with a number of alfisti they had informed me that the reason for this is that the pickup in the tank is on the drivers side so when you turn right, all the fuel runs away from the pick up creating the starvation. My solution was to run with at least half a tank and that solved the problem. Over the 5 years the car has gone from  stock street registed to race . In an attempt to save weight and for safety, i put a fuel cell in as i was told by the group s guys i could run with 10 litres in the tank and the starvation wouldnt be a problem. They were wrong. I could go on and tell you about the dozen things i changed or rectified trying to resolve it but i will leave it for another time. After about 4 months of thinking and testing i finally solved it. The standard fuel pump is a gravity fed unit so when you turned right, the fuel in the line pulled away from the pump back toward the tank leaving no fuel in the pump to force the fuel  into the rail. The solution was to install an inline pre pump which pulls and pushes the fuel to the standard pump. Now i know why there are so many bald guys driving alfas, they have all pulled their hair out. duk

That's some nice cable tying there!

But i believe the last one on the right is 1.5mm too close to the one before it. Get your act together. ;)

Looks like a good solution.  Did you make the surge tank yourself?  Is there a cheap source of surge tanks?  Do you have a second pump to lift the fule up to the tank?

I've got a similar set-up (although I do like this one with the pumps in the boot, may have to look at doing that myself), but I got my tank from these blokes in Melbourne....http://www.efihardware.com/products/c71/Surge-Tanks.   I've found them extremely helpful and knowledgable.

And yes, you'll need a secondary pump to lift to the surge tank.

It's an easy and cheap way to stop fuel surge, which is a very annoying problem on the track.
