why do you need to remove the engine i find this to be a waste of time being that you can do it with the engine in

ok have you ever tried to take the passenger side cylinder  head off last time i tried it hits the brake master and booster assemblies, in my experience it easier to take the engine out and do the job on a engine stand, ask any alfa mechanic and they all say the same thing, besides i got 15 years experience so trust me when i say i know what i am doing you cant take the head off without taking the engine out. And if you if you think you know better try it for self.

mate, you are stretching this a bit, aren't you.
please move your offers to buy/swap/sell where they belong, this is really not a general discussions item, is it!

You still need to unbolt the booster to get the engine out anyways as it gets in the way, so it can be done in the car....it's just easier taking it thew motor out and having more room around the engine to work with...so you should know this with 15 years experience...but I don't think your 15 years experience is 15 years experience by the sounds of it.

If you can pull the engine out without removing the booster than you can change the head gasket in the car. Plain and simple.

every one has there own way of doing it i was always shown to do it that way and to be honest if you prefer to to take the booster off thats your choice ok. i did my apprentice that way and if you have any problems with it that way ring lorenzo in sydney and tell him. it is easier to take the engine out, and whats with this shit about 15years experience all of a sudden every one knowsabout to fix alfas and they are the expertises, i dont know every thing but i dont hang shit on other people.
if anyone want work done on there cars thats fine i will do it my way i have done a million times and for me it is quicker, beside that the bolts toe booster are on the in side under dash what you gone muck about trying to get to bolts that you cant even see properly. and if any one want to put money on it i ll bet you ill have the engine out before you get the booster off.

The engine was out due to engine swap... nothing to do with head gaskets. All work was done by a specialist - i have no idea if the engine needs to come out or not for a head gasket. I am not taking any sides in the conversation - just showing that the brake booster does not need to come out.
