40 years since that landing

About 5 weeks ago NASA lauched the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. On board are a series of cameras designed to take photos of the lunar surface from low orbit (~50km altitude), primarily mapping the surface looking for future landing sites and then orbiting near the polar regions. As a spin-off from this mission, the LROC has photographed several of the Apollo landing sites. Some of these photographs have been released by NASA close to the 40th anniversary of the first landing. The initial photos are relatively low resolution, with higher ones to follow, but good enough to make out the LM descent modules and their shadows.
