Change colour

i will have to strip to bare metal the 105 coupe  in order to
fix all the rust. car is white at the moment.
prefer red. is originallity all that important?

That's a question that is completely personal preference, some would say yes, others no. But it is a 105.... so i would say yes. Keep it original.

Hi lilpug,

When it came time to re-spray my 1750, I went through the same moral considerations.  Should I go with my preferred colour (resale red) or keep it original (burgundy)?
As mine was not going to be an engine out (or concourse) project, I elected to keep it in burgundy.  Fortunately, with a fresh coat of paint, I finally appreciated the elegance the original colour lent to the lines of the 105 coupe and have no regrets.

Its generally accepted that originality encourages a stronger resale value.  However, a red Alfa will always remain desirable to most prospective buyers.

My advice; go with what you believe will bring you the greatest pleasure.  Also remember red ones are faster.

My 105 is white and will be going through a full restoration back to metal. one day 

I personally like the white with black interior, and will be keeping it original.

Hawthorn white, with black skai interiors.

If you do choose to change - I think at least stick to a classic Alfa colour...

The colour code for Alfa red is AR501, although what year and model is your 105? 

Im going through the same dilemma at the momet, my car is red AR501, was originally metallic olive green AR213 and now Im going to paint it AR343 Dutch Blue (Blu Olandese). Yes not original but this colour was available on the year and model my car came out in and I love it.

Mate do whatever makes you happy thats whats important.

it seems that the information i got from the seller was worse then it is.
after using a fair amount of carburettor fluid i now have compression readings
within 5lbs per cylinder and just have to sort out some carburettor problems.
So it is easy, i will go back to the original colour after stripping and welding repairs.
(fun job stripping paint ) white.
The interior is quite good, apart from the dashboard.
