156 cost saving

I had the misfortune of my 156 Ti breaking down twice on Friday and the gremlin turned out to be a rev sensor for the computer system. I got some good exercise pushing the little blue bastard (the 156 that is), once from a set of lights and the second time in the middle of a busy city carpark.

Euromarque, the local Alfa dealer, wanted to charge $586 for the new part! Got one from Turin in Adelaide - exact same part - for $259. It pays to shop around. Thanks to Turin for supplying the part and shipping it to Brisbane overnight.

I had the misfortune to "donating" to the Euromarque retirement fund also mate.
I actually found an alfa spare parts dealer on the northside of brisbane called avanti spares in northgate, you might want to give them a try.
I got a price on fitting a timing chain to my car for the cost of $800 compared to $1200 or so that i have heard of.
