Is This Origional?

Hi Guys,

While crawling over my girl (the steel body type!) on the weekend, I noticed that the engine seems to have a slant to the right as shown in the picture, is this as per origional???

Also the cooling water bleed air nut that is located on the thermostat housing is a very unusual size. It measures across the flats at approx 13.5mm  so getting a socket to fit this is difficult??   is this origional???

The slant is normal, it makes room for the carbies and air box etc. No comment on the bleed nut.

Bleed screw looks original.  Should be a 14mm brass one.

Thanks guys, I glad the slant in the engine is not due to worn engine mounts or something.

That brass bleed air bolt is a problem, might have to purchase one of those multi fit type spanners, I hope a replacement 14mm brass bolt is available locally.

That will be hard to replace so don't remove it. Just bleed off the air when filling by loosening a heater hose at the rear of the water jacket. Warm the engine to normal temp, let it cool over night and re top up radiator.

Does anyone know what size the brass bolt is .... is it 8 x 1.25mm thread??,   if I cannot find a replacement I better not touch it!

Thanks guys, I will take your advice and not touch it.    It is probably one of those jobs that look simple and should be, however it can turn into a headache.
