Hi Mario,
For this conversion you will need

1. 105 sump and oil pump.
2. The crank will need to be drilled out to accept the spigot bush for your 105 gearbox.
3. 105 2 litre flywheel, you wont be able to use your Gt Jnr flywheel or starter motor (Im assumimg yours is a
1300) however you can use the alfetta GTV 2 litre starter motor.
4. Also is yours a hydraulic clutch ? If not and being a stepnose you might need to change the
bell housing and convert to hydraulic clutch.

Im sure of 1 to 3, step 4 is a maybe.
I was to do the same conversion as Ive got an old 116 2 litre lying around, in the end I bought an engine out of a 74 spider with the flywheel, clutch and an Alfetta starter motor, so she should drop straight in.

Ask a specialist about drilling the crank, not an overly hard conversion but a little bit of fluffing around

Good luck
Cheers
Pep

soooooooo how much do want for the gtv then ;D

Only kidding, yeah dont think the 2 litre headjob would work, have heard of a 1750 head on a 1600.

If you dont want to do too much and you want a power/capacity increase than a 1750 105 engine conversion would be easier as it should drop straight in, ive seen a fair few smooth nose Gt Juniors 1300/1600 running a 1750. Another bonus is its a very sweet engine, not the most powerful but probably the nicest of the lot.

thanks pep i might bit the bullet on the gtv and strip what i might need off it and flog it on flee bay cause the shell is virtualy rust free,,,,,,,,ok now that you have picked yourself up off the floor i probably will upgrade the 1300 for a 1750 i know where to get one for a 105 just didnt want to buy one right now my wife will skin me alive just spent heaps on the brakes and suspension so i might have to suffer it out with the 1300 for now ah well i supose if i need a speed buzz i can always jump in my xr8 ford and blast off good for straight line grunt not much good for anything else thanks mate
