Whilst I joined the Forum a month or so ago I have only just got around to this task.  Too busy reading all the 156 posts and discussions!    I have been a Member of the NSW Branch since 84, indeed I was on the Alfesta  at Mt Beauty around that time.  From 84 to 01 I owned a Maroon 105 GTV 2000, in 01 I changed to a white GTV6 which I have recently sold.  My reason for selling is entirely due to old bones.  You will have guessed the replacement a 03 156 selespeed which is easier to get in and out of and has all the modcons.  It is almost as much fun as the coupes.   SO FAR the selespeed has been fine, particularly after I has it calibrated.  However, the forum is a great "comfort" for its great knowledge base and is a credit to the Branch.  Finally, let me say Hi to all our friends in Vic Branch, good friends made through many happy Alfestas. Old or not, good to hear you still have Alfa through your bones Bob ! A relative newbie myself to the forum
and slowly getting to know my way around. I think of it as my Alfa shed without the oil smell and minus the tyre marks out garage door...Welcome. Pull up a milk crate and help yourself to a cold Fourex.... :)

I wanted to keep this under wraps to conserve sensitivities but seeing that my hand is forced , I gots to reveal all. Market research indicates that sending our liquid gold south would simply be wasted on the Mexican palate.... ;D

Gees you guys what Mexican palate !! ;D  All I saw when recently up in Sydney and later Jindabyne/Perisher was some pretend stuff called Tooheys, bogan VB and some real Ales for discerning drinkers....Boags Premium out of the best place in Aus, Tassie  ;D.  As for X-4, well I can't say it makes south of the border and for a good reason.

Oh and I forgot to mention, G'day Bob welcome back on board as a Alfa 156 owner.  I have had my '03 JTS Sportwagon for nearly 2 years and it has so far been a great drive, with no major issues.

Welcome to 156 ownership.  I have had nothing but delight with my Twin Spark Sport (except it's a bit low).  Was contemplating a switch to a v6 whixch I do miss after parting with my 164. But anyway,  besides being reasonably economical, its light car and convenient to get around in, even if it is my weekend car.

Correct me if I am wrong, the selespeed is recalibrated on the factory spec Alfa Analyser ?

Hi All

I'm not sure if I should be here or not, you see I don't own an Alfa - yet.

We rented a couple of Alfas in Italy while we were over there a year or so back, the 147 and the GT. Both were JTDs and they knocked my ever-loving socks off!

I'm in the market for a new car and the 147 would be the bees knees.

Can anyone tell me what some of the common faults might be and any servicing issues in WA. I know Geraldton is light on AR dealers but I might have to schedule my trips to Perth around the service intervals.

All the best

Peter
