Mike

Hi I still have my GT up for sale, had some interest but nothing serious.  It needs a good home and I do not have the time to do it justice, to many projects!
Model: White Alfetta GT
Motor: 1.8 liter twin cam (surprisingly gutsy, moreso than my other GT)
Location: Tas, but can arrange for delivery to melbourne
Condition: Original, complete, (GT interior intact), some rust in the usual locations
Would suit: Enthusiast of GTs/GTV's,
Reason for sale : I was going to steal parts from it for my GT, but to be honest, its probably better than mine in many ways, so best to sell to someone to appreciate it.
Price:  It needs work, so I don't expect silly money.
If the buyer is in tassy it will come with rego, interstate buyers would obviously have to sort out rego once transported.

It does come with almost new pirelli's, mag wheels, webber carbies, 10548 pre polution cams and a very sweet revving motor.
Pictures:  Can be arranged for serious buyers, but you can see one on my alfa bb thread at the following link:

GT's rarely come up for sale, and I don't recall the last time an original unmolestered example was for sale, so get yourself a bargain.  Oh and if you are looking for a Group S car, please just go buy a GTV steel bumper, this car is not for you.

Cheers
Mike

Actually the GT is the car for Group S. The GT is about 30kg lighter than the later GTV even though the interior (those door trims  :o) are actually heavier...

Car is still for sale guys, looks like it may go to melbourne, suggest if you harbor any desire to keep it in Tas, especially when so cheap, that you swing round my place and leave a small wad of cash ;-)

Dave got your call and have left a message, sorry was in the hospital with my son, so could not return the call.  Call me tommorow and we can arrange a viewing.

Mike,

Just out of interest, what is the chassis # and compliance date? (Only need last four digits.)

Only the '75 GTs have the 10548 cams and Weber carbs, like mine did (chassis#1910, comp 11/75.) They are known as a Alfetta GT 1800 with 122hp and are pretty rare, being only sold in the last three months. (76 cars are Alfetta GT 1.8 with 10520 cams, dellortos and 118hp.)

I bought my GT as a wreck back in 1998 for $500. It was straight and we got it to run, but it needed a lot of work...  :)

PM me if you like.

Paul, interested in your comment about the differences in spec for the 75 & 76 GT's. Contrary to what you have said, I have two 76 GT's, both have the original Webbers, and my 75 has Dellorto's. I can't comment about the cams. The motor in the 76 I know has been replaced out of a sedan, but I don't know if any internals were changed over. I suspect not, although it's a gem! Cheers.

Car is still for sale, but I have had a think and have decided to post the price so it is clear for all.

$1650 without pirrellis and alloys.
$1800 with. (no, not near offer)
Currently our of rego, will register for $70 excluding rego if buyer wishes.  also, can can be stored at my place for up to 2 months post purchase if that helps.

The chassis number is AR111611 000 1915 for the fellow who asked.

The car does have 10548's and webbers (matching pair).  It is the orignal motor that came with the car, and yes, they are quite rare, my 76 has dellortoes and 10520's, and is noticebly slower in that guise (does not rev out nicely).  Lots of people of course retro fit the carbies and cams to the car, but this is not the case on the this car.

Also car has new battery, new master cyl and clutch master.

Cheers
Mike

Hi Craig,

It is funny how these things go. I had a 6/75 Alfetta 1.8 sedan, which is quite rare. It had the early (narrow) grille, 10548 cams on Dellortos and a 1.8 badge on the boot. Alfa register guru said that the "early" Alfetta sedans shouldn't have the 1.8 badge but he had never seen a 75 built "early" sedan, most of the ones we got here were 12/74 compliance. There were minor trim differences (heater controls and no interior light near the rear screen) between the 74s and early 75s. I think it must be because the Alfetta 1.6 was introduced in mid 75. Late 75 sedans had the "fat" grille. 10520 cams, and different instruments, the "X" engine (see below) and the 1.8 badge.

As for the GTs the early 122hp engines with the 10548s had an "S" in the engine number and Webers while the emission 118hp engines with the 10520 had an "X" in the engine number on Dellortos.  I would think it would be a common practice to change from Dellortos to Webers.

Not wishing to hijack Mike's thread, but to contribute to the discussion on the specs of the GT's, and following Pauls great information,
I' ve had to go and check my serial and engine numbers again!
They are as follows:

Build date   Serial No   Carbies     Engine Code
10/75        1789          Webbers    "s"
11/75        2072          Dellortos    "s"
03/76        2334          Webbers    "s"

So I guess that explains why I describe the engine in mine as a gem, it has the "right" cams!

Mike, from a fan of the GT, I'm really surprised that your car hasn't been snapped up already. Pehaps it's because its a somewhat "forgotten" model, which it shouldn't be.

Cheers!
