Stalling problems...2000 model 156 Selespeed

Hey guys,

my second post on the forums and unfortunately it is a problem.

In the last few days, first thing in the morning on my way to work my car runs a little "rough".

It would start first time every time with no problems, but as soon as I get to the end of my street and slow down it would stall and turn off. THis is regardless if I am in 'City' or manual mode.
I'd turn it off, take the key out and start again and again...same issue.

THis only seems to happen when the car is cold and as I said...first thing in the morning.

I was shitting bricks thinking it was my gearbox, but after speaking to the guys at Maranello's this morning they seem to think it's an 'electrical' issue??

I'm about to go for a drive and take it to them and try get it diagnosed.

Anyone had anything similar happen to them??

How about joining the club and coming along to the 156 Workshop.  You should gain some valuable knowledge there.

well no luck yet.

Gotta go back after 4:30 and get it diagnosed as the guys were very busy.

I also spoke to the guys at The Italian Job and they said it could be the thermostart, and come to think of it, my temperature gauge is always low, well below 90.

Gotta wait n see.

just got back from Maranello's...

crank angle sensor needs replacing, and was quoted around $400 fitted (inc. part)

reasonable?

so two more 'scans' later and it seems it is NOT the crank angle sensor??

Not sure if it's similar, but i had problems this week with the GTV. First the battery light was on, then airbag light, then the ABS light. Then the car started coughing and spluttering, and died. Tried to turn it over, and it wouldn't. Turned out to be the alternator. Might be something to get them to check.
Owning a GTV, if i have to explain... you'll never understand...

Crank angle sensors will often throw up faults even when they are working properly (often during cranking whith low voltage and engine speeds). This can make diagnosing problems a little tricky.  The guys at maranallo know their stuff and costs will allways be fair, stick with them and good luck!
