Hi Guys

I'm currently getting my GTV6 tacho recalibrated as it reads about 1000rpm low at the rev limiter. The Instrument techo
needs to know the the input signal frequency is at either 1000rpm or full scale. Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction to get the figures?

Thanks in advance

This is not going to help at all but I thought I might share a couple points with you. Veglia instruments are classic Italian non comprende with most common standards used by other manufacturers. It suprises me none that your tech is having a head scratch. I have tried to contact the company in Italy direct about their circuits and operating parameters only to be totally ignored no matter what language the request was in. Their back up is non existent.

What I can say in general terms is that the input signal to the tacho is a relatively "dirty" wave somewhere between a sinusoidal and a square but if you clean it up, it wont work. It also tolerates voltages that other systems would fry on, like up to 50 volts peak to peak (if not more).

Hi MD

Thanks for the comments and advice. After a bit of googling and a post on the AlfaBB, I assembled the following figures: 1000rpm - 50Hz, 3000rpm - 150hz and 6000rpm - 300hz. So I'll see how these work....

BTW liked that GTV6 restoration thread you posed in December!
