Auto Italia Canberra 2010 will be held on Sunday, 18 April 2010 on the Patrick White Lawns near the National Library of Australia between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm.

Alfa Romeo will be the featured marque for Auto Italia Canberra 2010 to commemorate the centenary of ALFA.

More information is available at http://www.autoitaliacanberra.com/Welcome.html

This is not a 'show and shine', or a concourse event it is simply a chance to display your car and share the passion you have for Italian motoring with other drivers. Food and drink will be available and this is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the simplicity and beauty of Italian motoring design through the past Century.

Hopefully a few people will be driving up to take part in this.

If we get a few veteran, vintage or pre 105 classics on show, it will be a good turn out.

Being the featured marque Alfa will have a display that includes a 'timeline' of cars from oldest to newest and this will be the centrepiece of the display.

That's actually what I wanted to do for Spettacolo this year - they copied my idea !

Now I have to think of something else.  Any ideas for a something a bit different then ?

Hi All.
The organisers of AutoItalia are planning to do a special display for Alfa Romeo 100 years. If you are interested in attending just let them know your intentions and car model.
Already there are a few of us planning the trip and I have a preferred accommodation venue with secure underground car parking. The place is called Bentley Apartments in Manuka.
If Alfa Romeo owners are interested in staying there too, I will be able to push for a group discount. Please indicate your interest on this site at your earliest.

Got a 4 day weekend planned so will really enjoy it.

Perhaps some people will catch up on the Friday or Saurday nights in Manuka for dinner ?

It is open to everyone and any Italian car can be entered.  It isn't a concourse event, in fact many of us enjoy the fact that old Alfa's are still used in the way the manufacturer intended.  It's normally a great day and this year will be even better, featuring Alfa in among all the other Italian cars, bikes and scooters.  There will also be a very special and very old Alfa on display this year ...

Just want to give a vote of " Thanks" to the the volunteers who contributed to this event.  Drove up for the weekend and had a great day.  The organisation was most professional in organising a display of numerous seperated Italian motor cars and bikes.

The line up of Alfa Romeo cars over the last 60 years was thorough and well presented.  I like the display board in front of each car explaining the model features and details.

We were lucky as most Alfas were in the shade by the lake next to the pedestrian path.  Think of two lines of leafy trees for 3 rows of cars - lots of usable shade.

Thanks John,

glad you had a good time, I'll make sure your thanks get passed on at the washup committee meeting.  Auto Italia 2010 was the biggest display in the 25 year history of the event and was particularly well supported by AROCA members.

Hope to see you in Melbourne in November for Spettacolo 2010.

We may even have a special prize catagory for interstate AROCA club members who have time available to go interstate.
Cheers.
