Hi guys

Got a price today from a place called Pole Position in Geelong for Koni Sport (Yellows) for my 2.0 85 Alfetta GTV. I was quoted  $358 fronts and $358 rears. Does anyone know of a cheaper supplier in Melbourne or is this pretty much a set retail price? Also are there other options for 'good' shock absorbers from another manufacturer? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Prova, the price seems pretty reasonable to me, I seem to recall spending at least $550 for my Koni yellows some 11 years ago for my 1750 GTV and Fiat 124 Sport.  Can't comment on other suppliers in Melbourne, we only have one distributor here in Hobart.  Other shocks, well there are Bilsteins but they are usually more expensive, possibly Spax ?? but that is about it from my perspective.  I am rapt with the Konis.

About six or seven years ago i bought a complete set for my AC Coupe for $380 from the same supplier which sounds really cheap now!

i recently bought a set of Bilsteins from Quadrant suspension in Berwick for a bit over $200 a corner including bump stops on the front shocks. Thought it was good value. Work a treat too.

Thanks for the smart arse comments, Mr Gulliver.  ::)  very constructive indeed !

Just because Prova is writing in plural doesnt necessarily imply he's talking pairs..

Quoterecently bought a set of Bilsteins from Quadrant suspension in Berwick for a bit over $200 a corner

Last time i checked there were 4 wheels ( corners) on most cars. $200.00 each or $400.00 a pair seems to be about what the cost is.

Prova, there is a bloke named Ray Bell on the Valiant/Chrysler forum, www.moparmarket.com.au claims he can supply Konis shocks cheap. He never mentions the prices on the forum, so I cant give you an indicative price, but send him an email, its on his signature on the forum.

Thanks for that lead 'Converted' I will look into it and let you know. A good old friend of mine owns Valiance in South Melbourne maybe he might be able to get a good trade price.

Try Alfisti in Germany, I got a set of Bilsteins for my GTV6 for $300.00(approx) delivered.

prova

Wow 'carjunky' that sounds awesome and Bilsteins have a great reputation. I will definitely check this out. You might have saved me $400 - good man!

prova

Checked out 'Alfisti' - Chowderboy can you remember if the shockers were B4 or B6. The B4's are very cheap for a set - but Alfisti said they are a "bit soft for such a spirited driving machine" (I think they really dig these cars!). The B6 are the ones they recommend I imagine similar to Koni Sports. If you have B4's I would love to know what you think of them. I might call Pedders later as well.

prova

The latest - Alfisti can sell Bilstein B6 but they will cost over $700 once landed - might as well buy local Konis. They do have B4 on sale at the moment for 89EUR for a set of four plus delivery of about 50-60EUR which is a great price but I think they are more of a standard shock. Has anyone used the B4's?
