G'day gents
I'm doing the fix on the light switch and something in the immobiliser seems to have given up. All the electrics have failed and the light in the immobiliser is not on any more. Having checked everything I can get into with a test light, including the batteray and its terminals, the electrics are totally out.
It is one of the old style "magnetic" types where you plug the "key" into a socket briefly to get it operating.
I'm going to remove it but the problem I'm having is finding the control "box". I haven't started any major disassembly of the dash,  yet, I would like to hear some suggestions before I strip half the car ...... electrics are my weakness, I can usually find a way through it but I'm not good at it.
Any help would be grealy appreciated.
Cheers
Bill

Well I've been pottering away one wire at a time during the day as the mood takes me and I have the immobiliser unit sitting on the floor now...... I think now that I've had a good look at the wiring and the associsted looms its the job for an auto electrician. In my humble opinion its just a bit too technical for a layman to deal with.

type of car would help, if it's a 105 (as suggested by the location of the post) it should be very easy to remove the imobiliser and return the wireing to standard
happy to help, just need some info.
72' 105 2000 GTV Red (tarmac rally/race car)
74' 105 2000 GTV Blue (road car)

Sorry Colin I was a bit stressed at the time ..... wiring does that to me.... yes its a 105.
A couple of wires from the immobiliser have broken so that would most likely account for the power failure..... and because all the wires are black, well that just gets confusing. I will just be installing a simple "kill" switch as these don't use power, and I believe are easier to deal with.
