33 Wagon ? Will it be the end of me ?

My Son and I are looking at purchasing a 33 wagon....its got about 130,000k's and looks OK, and its only $1,000

BUT

Will the 4x4 system drive me insane and send me broke ?
Will it periodically self combust setting fire to my Spider parked next to it ?

Its only to be used as an every day commute when he's not driving his MX5, and may have the indignity of having my daughter learn to drive it

Is there any dark secrets I should know about and will it drive in any way like a sedan (yes...I have only seen photos buts its only $1k)

I had one that i bought in fishwick of a dealer,had over 300k on the clock-despite high mileage-ran like a dream,a joy to own and drive,just make sure u change timing belts,the 4x4 was awesome ,especially in the wet,seats and interior where awesome with split rear seats for extra room,i relly love this model and parts where cheap and easy to find and to boot you have that classic 1.5 twin webber bullet proof boxer engine,at a $1000 sounds very tasty.buona fortuna
