Hi GUys

Just a quick question. Have been doing plenty of research on the new Ducati I have which has rubber tooth belts to drive the cams.

For these bikes they make Kevlar embedded belts which apparently will not break unless under the most extreme of circumstances. Obviously if they are slack and jump a tooth you still get issues, but these ones are apparently bullet proof and not that expensive.

Hence my question, are there kevlar belts available for Alfa engines - has anyone seen this or are they all just plain rubber in the hope that they will need to be replaced more often.

Catch ya

Hi Shane
Great to catch up with you at Phillip Is. I too wondered why the Alfa belts have such a low km life when I changed mine on the GTV6 early last year.  At the time I was contemplating the 150 k km between changes on my V6 T*y*ta.  Be interesting to see if anyone has an answer.
