Hi all,

Does anyone know of any Alfa mechanics in Melbourne who use Alfa Romeo software to aid them in servicing their car? Zagame's charge $120 to plug in their computer and I think that's outrageous.

Whilst on the topic of pricing, how much does everyone here pay for an average, non-cambelt service?

I believe all the independent specialists who advertise with the Victorian club have the Fiat Examiner - check the list: http://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/content/view/20/33/

I know that Maranello Pur Sang in Brunswick definitely do.

u may think its outrageous, but be aware that examiner costs a few grand for the machine (handheld computer) and then there is a hefty monthly service fee for the software or whatever... i believe its a couple of hundred AFAIK

anyway its not cheap and its not a fixed one off cost to own an updated examiner.

on the other hand you can code a lot of the errors yourself using a OBDII cable and software like FiatECUScan or Alfadiag (one off ~100AUD license)

non-cambelt servicing can be done by yourself - hell cambelt servicing can be done by yourself - but it all depends on how much you are willing to learn/research and invest in tools and taking it all as a learning experience/hobby.

if you're not prepared to do that, then pay the man (alfa indy or dealer) whatever it is they want for it. simples.

I am sure that the Italian Job in Oakleighhave the Alfa Examiner - you should give them a call and ask them.

Otherwise I do know for certain that Donini's in Caufield East do have it for sure.
