cams on 150033Ti

are the left bank and right bank cams the same. Is no1 on the left bank or right bank looking at engine from front. Tried swapping leads, would not blow back through carbie throats but wouldn't start either.

Cams are the same, identical, but when fitted,  No 1 drivers side with timing mark lined up, has the lobes off the lifters, and N.o 2 passenger side is opening both valves.

Take off  both rocker covers and spark plug from No 1(drivers side).

Put No.1 piston at top dead center, line up the flywheel mark at the back of the engine by looking down through the hole next to the dizzy,

Then make sure that both cams have the marks lined up. I know you,ve done this already more than once.

Now drop the dizzy in. MOST IMPORTANT, NOW THE DIZZY SHOULD HAVE THE ROTOR BUTTON LINED UP WITH THE TINY MARK ON THE TOP OF THE OUTER RIM OF THE DIZZY, WHICH IS FOR NUMBER  1 CYLINDER. THE ROTOR BUTTON SHOULD BE ROUGHLY POINTING TO THE FRONT.

With the engine in this position, No1 is ready to fire.

The bottom of the dizzy is offset, ECCENTRIC, so it only goes in one way, so if it points to the back, something kinky is going on. Thats the 180 out part.

The problem now is, the crankshaft needs to do one rev to bring the eccentric of the dizzy drive around 180 degrees to make the dizzy point at No 1 without the cams moving, OR YOU WILL BEND VALVES.

I now a trick to get around this DANGEROUS re-timing of the cams, which is the crossing of the leads, or you can look at the bottom of the dizzy,remove the spring clip, take the pin out and  rotate the eccentric 180 replace everything, and the leads will stay in original position and away you go.

Make sure the mark on the dizzy lines up so you know you are in the ball park for timing, because you have now been cranking the engine for a while and its probably flooded and may still take a while to get going, and make you think you still have incorrect timing when in fact your spot on.
