Removal of standard aerial

I am attempting to remove the standard aerial from the 1750 as I no longer require the tuner.. Has anyone explored this with any success? It seems completely cased by the front left guard.

You may have to remove the rear splash guard on the front left wheel well, it shold be fixed by some self tapping screws.     If you have not done this it is wise to open both left and right side splash guards so that you can also clean out the dirt etc and rust treat the bottom of the A pillar area.....a must for 105 owners!
