Hi all,

This forum have been very helpful for me and I appreciate everyone's previous help.

I have a 156 that the door is making terrible rattling noise during idling and also when running.
(Especially bad when the weather is cold like now)
It has reached the level that it is annoying the passenger in the cabin.

The noise are reduced when I push the interior fitting (door) hard from inside the cabin.

Have anyone ever experienced this rattling noise before?
How did you manage to fix it?

To fix this kind of non-mechanical issue,
is it better to bring to a dealer, independent Alfa specialist, or a bodywork shop?

Thanks

the problem could be in the door latch that its not catching properly and there for lets the door rattle you can fix it ur self. you should be able to check this when standing still and hold the outside door handle and see if u can shake the door

Took to Italian Job to check out the door today.
It didnt like look there is anything wrong with the fittings from outside, but once they pull off the door fitting,
we found out that the plastic clip that holds the window was cracked, and the cracked plastic clip that was stuck inside the interior fitting was causing the rattle noise.

The whole window fitting unit had to be replaced to get ride of the noise.
Thanks to Italian Job, they had stocks of secondhand power window units from wrecked cars, so got it replaced with a reasonable price.

Few other clips that holds the interior fitting was partly cracked as well, so they have replaced that for me too!

Thanks for your help!
