After a rouge long screw combined with new rubbers and bad luck caused a shattered drivers side glass, I'm now on the hunt for a new one. Tried Milanos but only saw two and they were very poor quality so looking for some alternatives. Has anyone had one made up from a template ? Let me know how you went and who you used.

Had a quick look on Alfaholics, Centerline, highwood and classic alfa and can see lots of windscreens and rear windows but no side glass ? Yes the cable version.

Thoughts.

Cheers

Hi JJ,

You might try PGI at http://www.protector.com.au/Autoglass-Manufacturing-Plant.aspx

On that web page, they have a link marked "2009 catalogue". At the bottom of page 18 of the PDF document which opens, they list "Alfa Giulia 1300, 1600, 1750, 2000 GT, GT Junior, GT Veloce, GTV 2 DR Coupe 8/1964 to 1976" windscreens at $180 (including GST), which is the best price I've even seen for an Alfa 105 windscreen in Australia.

PGI also claims to specialise in other rare and custom glass applications, so, given that the 105 door glass is simply flat glass, you'd think that getting a new window cut and ground would be way cheaper than shipping one from overseas.

Cheers,

Nick

Thanks Nick, you 100% about the shipping from overseas. I'm showing my novice experience with Alfas on that one. I think I have managed to find an orginal one that is good enough for the car from two of the AROCA sponsors. Just some light buffing and they should be 100% and will have orginal markings.

Will keep your suggestion in mind as I spoke to another guy who told me another mob in Croydon does the same thing.

Thanks for the suggestion.

My classic Alfa education continues.
