FS: 75 TS road & track car - Road registered with optional CAMS cage-SOLD

My "garage" sale continues  ;D

1988/90 75 TS in red. 225000 kms. Has had big $$ spent over the last 2-3 years on tailshaft, power steering, fuel pump, gearbox, exhaust, bushes and more.

What makes this car interesting is that it has a Harvey Bailey handling kit which includes 29mm front antiroll bar, upgraded rear springs, revalved Bilsteins and a full stainless steel supersprint exhaust plus a K/N filter element in factory airbox.

Although it doesnt have bigger torsion bars it handles exceptionally well in this combination, despite the front sitting too low for my liking.

It also goes like a skinned cat, and is definately the quickest TS in full road trim i've ever driven (and thats more than one  ;)..)

There is also a full CAMS approved Bonds roll cage that is available but not included in the price (which needs little modification to fit, coming from an Alfetta sedan - its slightly too big so needs to be shortened at the feet).

This would make a great budget racer (which obviously already has the TS gearbox and engine as you know!), particularly if you put the cage in, or a fast road car as is.

Whats not so good is that the roof and bootlid are slightly off colour as they were painted some time, and the car has developed a stumble once warmed up, which i havent had time to chase for the last 3 months, due to lack of time.. Sometimes it stumbles through 3-4000 rpm, but is fine for the rest of the RPM range. Other times it will hit  somewhere between 3-5000 rpm and wont got beyond, as if it was hitting the rev limiter. .. ??? The roof lining material has dropped badly  but I have another one that could go with it if you dont turn it into a race car.

$3900 with 10 months NSW rego but can sell without for $3400.

Take off another $500 and I will replace the Harvey Bailey kit with a factory setup in case you have dont care about that one, so thats $2900 for a fast and quite pretty looking TS with excellent engine, gearbox, power steering, air conditioning, tailshaft and supersprint exhaust.

Reason for selling is that I've got my eyes on a 147GTA which will take up far less of my little spare time, mainly because I wont know how to work on it.. ;D

Comes with factory TS 14x 6.5 alloy wheels, or we can discuss other options.

Can arrange interstate transport..

its registered until 1 May 2011 at the moment, some more pics to come tomorrow.

Also has a Momo steering wheel and pretty good stereo with aux output for ipod/mp3 and amplifier under the passenger front seat. only other minus points after driving i tonight that i can think of is the headlights arent the best, and possibly a gearbox mount starting to wear.

thx dehne, its got plenty of goodies on it but i have to move quickly to secure the GTA, hence the keen price. im surprised we dont have many TSs on the track here in Sydney.  Its the cheapest and simplest way to get more HP than a stock nord and the LSD box is already there. Surely a TS wont be at the bottom of an under 2 litre class result sheet, even in stock form, and there are so many Alfa racing opportunities here that you dont have to have a group s or n car anymore to run with your Alfa mates. In fact, you could run this in regularity at the Mountain, PI, Festival of Sports cars, etc  without a cage, and there is room to improve - just see what times Robert does in his black TS (although its a light car and he can steer.. ;D)

i will swap the boot lid with spoiler holes with the parts car on the weekend (the colour of the original is off already as mentioned earlier..)

Also the heater dial doesnt work, i suspect a cable or linkage fault. temporary battery in place as other one died from sitting around..


the road sloaps to the passenger side and down, hence the odd gaps in the wheel arches.   ;)

thanks for the enquiry. Couldnt possible add another to the collection - im trying to reduce it!  :D I'll keep an eye on your 164 post and will also keep it mind when talking to others..

i think you have prob tried this but have you put different plugs in and changed the rotor button or maybe you should remove the rev limiter just a thought to hel pfix the rev prob

if your interested i had exactly the same problem with a t-spark i worked on. turned out the harmonic balancer had worked loose and flogged out the key way. this was causing an irregular signal from the crank sensor at certain rpm due to the slight movement of the balancer. easy fix, found a second hand balancer and loctited it on. your symptoms are exactly the same so if you have a spare 15 minutes, undo the accessory belts and feel for any play from the crank pulley/harmonic balancer. might get you more for the car if it solves the problem.

Storm, i would drive the car to perth if i had to. ;D worst case so far was it wouldnt go past 3500 for a short time, and just cut out. all i did was shift just before 3500 and you wouldnt know there was a problem. parked it for 3 hours, and the problem was gone until i hit heavy traffic, then it hesitated between 3-4k, but above 4 it was fine again..

thanks for the thoughts dehne, the car has new leads, plugs, dizzy caps, etc. PO replaced/serviced pretty much everything to have the car in top shape. Because I dont drive the car every day, this hasnt bothered me and it was on the to-do list. I know its not the ECU or AFM as is swapped them, so temp sensor or crank angle sensor were next..

Camwright, appreciate the feedback. I'm going to give it ago on Sat morning! If it fixes the problem the price will go up!  ;)

How much more is the price going to go up ??  Even if it is a simple few hour job?

If you want it gone i have cash. its just that rev issue as it will be a rough long drive.
