I need a leg up

I need some advice from the 105 fraternity. Hopefully a simple question.

The castor rod ball joint fixing on the 105 chassis. How is it fitted. Is the two lug flange located inside the engine bay or inside the mudguard. Anotherwords, when the ball joint is in tension, is the tension on the two bolts holding it in place or is the flange iself behind the bodywork so that the bolts only keep it in place?

Thanks

Its located on the inside of the guard so the bolts do in fact take the full load under tension, hope that helps!

Thank you very much Colin. If it's good enough for the bolts on the Bertie to be taking the pounding in all sorts of road conditions, it should be good enough for the Alfetta conversion to take the strain as well. Saves me the job of cutting a major sized hole to fit the flange in tension.

Cheers.
