My second 75 has 286,000 kilometres. 2.5 V6 but it has had a really thorough rebuild so technically its not original...

Craig_m67

What's the average for a 2.0L twinspark before they give trouble?
Considering one, but want to factor in rebuild costs if mileage (Ks) are high

Hard to answer course as it will depend on life.. But interested in all opinions

3.0l V6, I bought it with 300K on it and the receipts say it had a half birthday (rings and valve seats ) at 260K. Around town it returns 8km/l and 11km/l on the highway, it's not too bad for an old thing.

A 90 has reached 500 000kms, wow that is an achievment, would have to see it to believe it, that is one lucky 90!
I am guessing that yours is a Super with 6 digit dash, i have three 90s but will never know their true kilomeratge because all mine are the digital dash which only has a 5 digit km recorder, so once up to 99 000 it resets to 00 000!  :-\

With such high mileage, what motor oil do u put in,guess this is an issue,ie. oil burning re viscosity-goes to show the alfa advanced engineering above the rest, maybe beemas have this sort of records as well.ciao

I did not bring up this topic for originality, but was just amazed as i had not seen before a Alfa Romeo with this many kilometres on it, i do not think it matters whether the vehicle has its original or 2nd or 3rd or 4th engine in it but just that the vehicle has reached this far, my project 75 has just had a low kilometre 90 V6 2.5 put into it so as long as it does not get pranged should get to the 500 000km mark, i have been using her everyday and she does not appear to be using any oil well nothing like my series 1 1989 164, when she was my everday driver i was topping her up weekly, seemed to fall from the oil dipstick max mark to min mark within a week
