Have finally found the time after over a decade of business commitments to re-engage my passion for Alfa Romeo - (never lost it - just suppressed it!). Was Past President of AROCA Qld and Committee member for 5 years. Now living in Tasmania (Launceston) and an active member of a small but passionate group known as Italian Car Enthusiasts of Tasmania - ICE for short or ICE T if you love the good life !.
Recently re-purchased my 72' GTV 105 series which I restored 16 yrs ago to Concours standard (just 6000mls added to the clock since then thank goodness) and also purchased after a big chase, a showroom condition unrestored Giulia 1300 Super with 25,000 genuine miles. On the hunt for a few more special 60's and 70's Alfa's which will no doubt come in good time. Was prompted back into the marque by the 100th Anniversary celebrations at Phillip Island (a fabulous event) and recently enjoyed Motorclassica. Currently helping out with ancillary event concepts for the Longford Revival Festival which is to be annexed to Targa Tasmania next year (2011 is the 20th anniversary). Also developing a new and significant classic car event for the State which is still 'under wraps'. Have just joined AROCA Vic and am looking forward to Spettacolo and catching up with Phil Nash and Tony Hawker. Wishing you all the best for the big day ! Mille Grazi... Mark Baigent

HI Mark,                Welcome back,the thing about Alfas is that once bitten,always addicted.   I suppose that is why there is a serpent or biscione,on the Alfa logo,to bite you and change your way of car enthusiasm.   I will go to the Spettacolo,and bring an umbrella.
