Hi to all,

I have just signed up to the forum and would like to introduce myself.

My name is Carl and I am about to embark on my second Alfa journey!!

I have secured a 1969 1750 GTV that needs restoration, and I intend to go from where it is now to a comfortable, reliable ::) car that could be used as a daily driver (but will prob get 50% usage.)

I owned a 1983 Alfa Sud in the very late 1990's (and was a member of AROCA NSW/Qld at the time) and traded that for a Peugeot 205 Gti which is still my daily car. I also own a John Cooper Works Mini (2008) which is mostly driven by my wife. I have in the past been active on other forums - aussiefrogs and mini2 - but this is my first foray into the Alfa world for a while.

I live in Brisbane and am certainly keen to hear from others who have travelled this road before me, or anyone who feels like a chat!

Chances are that most of the work will be outsourced to experts (especially body/mechanical) and I am happy to do interior fittings and minor electrical work myself.

Thanks for your time

Hi Carl, welcome! A 69 GTV sounds like a very desirable project! I am on my first Alfa resto journey at the moment with my 66 Giulia Super. Its in the panel shop at the moment getting the bare metal treatment and any rust/damage repaired correctly. If I survive this one I'll start on my 67 GT Veloce!
Anyway I am in Brisbane so if you need any bits I might possibly have them. Of course rejoining the club is a great idea! There are a few nice 1750s around Brissie.
My Super will be a daily driver as I had used it like that for a while prior to the resto. I think the 60's Alfas cope very well in modern traffic.

Ciao

Derek
