Does anyone here have experience buying a complete 24V 3.0L or GTA 3.2L engine?

I know the 3.2L engine would be worth a fair bit more but what sort of price range would i be looking at for a second hand engine?

Well there you go i obviously didn't look very hard! I'm guessing a 3.2L would be around the 5k mark if you could even find one...

I'm not ready to buy yet but i'll be looking in the new year for an upcoming 75 3L project  ;D

Anyone here running a 24v in a 75?

wankski

whoa, 3.5k for a 3.0 24v crate engine is pretty damn good...

but u will be coming into bills with that install.... all the sensors, ecu etc

GoldCLoverLeaf

Yes all the ancillaries required would really add up if you didn't already have them... but building a 12V up to around the 250HP mark you wouldn't have much change out of $8k anyways  :-\

I really wish Alfa sold the Arese V6 production line to Cosworth (they were interested in buying it aparently), because that might have meant more off the shelf performance parts available for the V6 if Cosworth chose to further develop the engine... although nothing with the Cosworth name would be considered cheap anyways!  :o

Just shows how good the V6 is really...

Not only would the ancilliaries add up but you'd also have to make up a set of gears that would match up to the higher reving engine

I assume you mean diff ratio? I would no doubt go the TS 4.10 route if i did the conversion...

The 88-89 75 3L has a ridiculously tall ratio unless you commute to work on the autobahn!

Bernard up here in Qld has a 24v 3l that Benincas put together for him in a 75 that was formerly a 2.5l. After market ecu, and induction work. Damn thing is a rocket.

Originally a Glenwood motor I think you will find.

Yeah but not only the diff but a closer matched set of gears so it stays in that sweet spot when you change up. As you probably already know 24v motors don't quite have that low down torque that the 12v has but they do have shedloads of power especailly when it's reving is tits off. Talk to Vin @ Pace, many club members have benefitted from his wealth of knowledge and speak highly of his "mixed set gearbox"
