Looking to get the gearbox/synchros fixed.

So my questions are;

If there is no real apparent problem other than synchros what is advised ?

e.g.do I get the dog gears done as well ?

Alternately is the conventional wisdom just to get the whole thing rebuilt ?

Intended use long term is to restore with mild cams and possibly webers, so I can on occasion take it on the track at club days and frighten myself in a non competitive fashion. The car would still need to be livable on a semi day to day basis.

Thanks in advance.

Ideally for a track car, you should use a box that has an LSD which means a Twin Spark job. Given that most of them have reasonable wear on them, you will need to rebuild that too especially the LSD part. So an experienced repairer can examine the box internals and tell you which parts you will need to replace and how many. It would also help if that same person had a chance to drive car with the intended box in it before strip down so you could tell roughly what needs to be done.Setting up such boxes is not recommended for the home handy man.

Life ins't always that simple.
