John, the GTV6 has a ballast resistor, so if you want to use a gt40 it will have to be the R (which stands for resistor).

Don't know for sure but i guess it would work.

Repco Lad

Hi John

Spoke to Bosch recently re coils. They told me that the GT40 range is not suitable, and that the genuine part number is the only way to go.

They also informed me that they had none in stock in any of there warehouses, and could order one from Germany- due 2011!

Did some digging around and found that Fuelmiser do a GTV6/ 75 etc coil. Part number CC215, (and in stock at your nearest friendly Repco store)- at around 1/3 of genuine Bosch price

Has been working perfectly since installed, although as the centre post is marginally wider than the Bosch post it necessitated opening the end of the lead out slightly.

Not sure how a GT40 would perform- maybe some-one out there has used one?

Hi,

Interesting that Bosch did not have anything to suit. Did they happen to say why the GT40(r) would not suit the Alfa? Can't imagine that the operating conditions and requirements are far removed from other cars of same era, particularly as the other components in the ignition system are bosch as well....

Cheers, John
