They are the same but you just have to change the spindles around. a fiddly job but 40's are not super common so you may have to do it.

I did the changeover on my brothers 1700 sud, and while it is doable, my mate up the road wants a simple bolt in, so he can take off his 36's and put on 40's, Colin.
