Last chance to enter the Alfa group for round two of the Top Gear Racing Series. We have a dedicated Alfa group (+ one Ferrari) and so far only 11 competitors. Plenty of space left, so contact Ken Percival (contact details on the AROCA Qld website) if you are keen. We'd love to see you out there with us.

If you happen to read this post but can't make it next weekend, mark these two dates down in your diaries - July 23/24 for the Alfa Romeo East Coast Challenge and November 6 for the Festival of Italian Motor Sport. Both events are are Lakeside, with the first being two dedicated racing groups for Alfa Romeos only and the November event being one racing group and one regularity group for all Italian makes.

Cheers, Brent

Will your new rig be sorted for July? Would be great to see you out on track with us. If not, November for sure.

Well, seeing how all my previous forcasts have died a natural death, all I can say is that I will do my best. If the car isn't there, well I know I will be there spectating and I know I have a reserved seat for sure. I know that 'cause I got the chair glued to my arse already... ;D

Nice mate.

The Giulietta fired up this afternoon, which was a huge relief. Hopefully getting a bit of dyno time on Thursday to make sure all the timing is in order before racing on Sunday. Can't wait to get out there and blow out the cobwebs!

Queenslanders, just a quick reminder about the Top Gear Racing this Sunday. We have a field of 10 Alfas and 2 Ferraris competing at Qld Raceway, Willowbank this Sunday and we'd love to see some club members out there waving the flag. $10 entry at the gate.

Cheers,

Brent

Thanks to everyone who competed on the weekend and a huge thanks to those who came along to cheer us on. We had 12 Alfas and 2 Ferraris on track and some tremendous racing across the whole day. Ken Percival will work out the exact placings for our Alfa Comp, but a little tooling about with my abacus tells me Phil Simmie took the Alfa honours from KP and yours truly. A spin at turn six in the final race cost me the silverware.

Big congrats to Mel Cason and Charles Webb for holding out the fast finishers in the handicap race. Chucky did well to get back in the action, having earlier buried himself in the kitty litter. We offered to strap a shovel and high-lift jack onto his GTV for subsequent races!

Thanks also to Len Watson and John Beatty from the Ferrari club for taking part. We appreciate their support of our race meetings.

Pics to follow tonight.
