My petrol flap on the Berlina is not holding closed. I see a small arm with drill hole which suggests a spring inside the rubber boot is missing. But what does the spring connect to , how long is it and how strong. can anyone shed some light on this please?
Thanks in advance,
Mickl

Mickl,

Yep...there should be a spring there that helps return the flap to the closed position.

Sorry don't have an electronic version of the parts manual to post a pic....someone may have that and be kind enough to post.

If you have lost don't lose sleep over it as you can buy a replacement (and other bits for that petrol flap area) from the major suppliers.

Paul.

Thankyou Paul, I see the spring i need for the petrol flap, and lots of other stuff that I am going to need too. I wasn`t aware of this website and it even has the clips I need for the stainless sill trim which the aussie suppliers said were unprocurable now!

I have looked more closely at the inside of the boot and it appears that there is a fold in the body metal panel where the flap is cut out and the inside of this metal fold at the bottom left corner there could be a finger of the metal sticking out which would have the hole for the spring. Mine does not have this finger as the fold is rough here and might have broken off......can Berlina owner confirm this to me please by feeling behind the rubber boot to see where the spring connection is?
Thanks again
