Hi everybody,

http://theage.drive.com.au/photogallery/2011-tz3-stradale-20110502-1e3u1.html?selectedImage=1

Check out these two cars - the Corsa is in the background on the 2nd of the 4 pictures in the series, and based on an 8C. The Stradale is based on a Viper. Both by Zagato.

Which do you prefer?

I recon that the 'European styling' of previous AR models have been spectacular and much loved (Diva, 8c, 8c spider etc), this new Viper look is a bit of a mixed bag - clearly for a 'stars and stripes' market.

I hope that this is not going to be a sign of future models.

A great European marque redressed (and engine in this case) to suite North American style - absolutely appalling adaptation of a tastefull design.

But would not turn away a free one ......

I find it hard to avoid thinking Viper when I see this, even though some of the detailing looks very nice.

Zagato has always presented controversial styling, and these two are no different.

Let's look forward to the next design studies and hope they deliver something newer and more resolved.

The problem I have with the Stradale is that the only thing remotely Alfa about it is the badge. It looks very nice but is based as we know upon the viper and screams of American muscle car. nope not for me i am afraid. But like John, if they were giving them away...

I am more excited by the 4C after orginally being a bit luke warm I have seen more pics and read a good article in this months Top Gear mag. It looks like a ure fire winner (if they make it) http://www.topgear.com/au/car-news/geneva-2011-alfa-romeo-4c-concept-2011-03-01

In the mag article it states that if made it was likely to go on sale for around 40k GBP (I think from memory-  I will correct later if I am wrong and someone else doesnt get there before me ) which in my opinion should make them fly off the shelves. Sadly of course with the ridiculous tax system and the ludicrous importer that is probably going to be more likely over $100k here :(

Hmmmm....not convinced re the 4C. I think it looks ungainly. It looks like a rejected Lotus design.

Which was the last Alfa that you looked at and thought "perfect", and yet there are so many competitors who get the car's proportions and stance right? For example - Audi A5 coupe, any Aston Martin. Even Kia, Volkswagen and Volvo seem to get it right these days.

Alfa-wise, I think the GT and 147 are pretty good, The new Giulietta is close to good but a bit awkward from some angles. The 80's Sprint was great.

Time for a new design "language"...
