Only five sleeps to go until the Alfa Romeo East Coast Challenge at Lakeside.

For those coming along to watch the action and support your mates, please be aware that the ticket price on Saturday is $20 and Sunday $30 (children 12 & under free). Each competitor receives four tickets, so be sure to ring around your pals who are competing and make sure none of these tickets are going to waste. (All mine are spoken for!)

Gates officially open at 8am each day (although we'll be there bright and early Saturday, with scrutiny commencing at 7.30am) and the first group should be out on track at approximately 9am Saturday for qualifying. Each Alfa group has two races each day, so whichever day you come along, you'll see four Alfa races. The 30 Italian machines will be parked together in pit bays 8-37, with New South Welshman Steve Byrnes in his GTA parked directly opposite with the regularity group.

Hope to see you there,

Brent

Okay, so I'd like to come along and bring the boy (mr Finn 4).  His indoctrination of all thing alfas started early, he works with me restoring the Duetto, has posed (and slobbered on) an 8c and lapped the nurburgring in a JTD.  That said, he's four and has about an hour in him before will need to do something else.. Icecream, lighting McQueen, etc.

What's the best time and day for family viewing ?  :)

Hoping the weekend is as good as the last 4 years of this race series. Unfortunately for the first time i will not be competing due to work commitments but will look forward to the incar footage that you all have but dont post . NSW  cockroaches will be sending a team capable of defending the crown which it has only given up once to a improving canetoad outfit hellbent on reclaiming the title. Mal Meninga started the sledging calling us rats and filth in Sydney and im sure the banter will continue over this great event. Good luck to all competitors and put on the sunshine for some great racing. Go the Blues.Doug

Judging by some of the cars I saw down at Philip Island last year, Mexico has some fine machinery and I am hoping they will make the pilgrimage ! Them cockroaches can't play footy but they sure can drive (unfortunately). So whilst I hope we do well, I would be less traumatised if we had to capitulate to the Mexican team.  ;D

Seb Mauceri, I am talking to you...hope you can make it mate.

On a more sane level, best of luck to all participants you lucky bastards !!  :) :)

Good to see you winding up the sledging Doug. Pity you won't be here mate. We had a good little tussle on the Sunday in 2009 - before my gearbox started giving me grief. See you at Wakefield next year. Am buying a new ute, so I have no more excuses not to tow the beast to NSW & Vic at least once a year.

Craig, best time to bring the young bloke out will be Saturday morning. $20 entry for you and free for him. If you are there by 9am you can see two lots of Alfa qualifying, two Alfa races and be out of there by lunch time. Action-packed and concise (no sex jokes MD, it's a family show!).

Come and say hi. Can't miss my car - it has the biggest wing.

Cheers,

Brent
