Personally I like this:

which is far more hotrod in spirit and has some cool features (like the old downdraft carbs used as EFI throttle-bodies...)

And more locally there is someone in Sydney with a yellow rod that was the first Alfa transaxle drivetrain rod I had heard of. It started off with a 4 cylinder in it and later went to a 2.5 V6. Its owned by Brett Calvert in Sydney.
The link shows the car when It was a 2litre with a MegaSquirt EFI and EDIS4 ignition. I believe it s running a 3 litre now.

there may be some vids on you tube when it ran at a hill climb a few years back and one of the 3ltr engine running

Nice cars and all but for me its an ego killer rocking up to a hod rod meet with all the big block hot rods and me in my 4cyl hot rod.

His latest mod was to put a 3ltr in it.

It looks pretty cool.

Because the Alfa cam covers are kind of flat looking, it almost looks the part, Yes I know it's not a v8, but I guess he wanted something different.

He used to have a web page where he documented the entire build. If I remember correctly, he also had an Alfetta rear end.

My interest in this is because he used a Megasquirt II and EDIS which I'm (very) slowly doing too.

So far I have my car running on EDIS, almost have the tacho working, have the computer built and hope to get it running with mapped ignition by the Weekend, as long as I can get a cam cover (see other post elsewhere)

With all of the room, an Eaton supercharger sitting on top of a V6 (with a water to air intercooler squeezed in there too) would be hot rod cool. Have some retro style blower hat poking through the bonnet as a throttle body (obviously would have to feed into the back of the Eaton). Chuck in a nicely concealed set of injectors and wiring, blown grunt, awesome drivability and fuel economy with Alfa music  ;D

Would have been nice to see him do something about the front suspension geometry while he was building chassis's from scratch, though  :P
