Hi All,

So it has unfortunately come time to sell the car I have always wanted because work is sending me on another 2 year overseas assignment and I no longer have a place to store it.
I bought this car in November 2009 from Perth and had it freighted over to Melbourne. Since owning the car I have been overseas for 13 out of the 16 months it has been under my ownership. Unfortunately, I will be overseas again from the start of June this year until May 2013, and since I have no place to store this car, I have decided to sell. :(
Overall the car is quite good condition. It comes with an extensive service history dating back to 1983. I have over $43,000 of receipts and I am the 5th owner of this vehicle since new. Mileage is 88,500, and since I have about a billion service receipts showing the mileage progressively going up, its original mileage. I spent a good 18 months searching for this car until I found one that ticked all the boxes. An Alfa Centro Documentazione check also confirmed that this car has the original engine, chassis and colour.
Body
- From a couple of steps away the car looks very nice. However, when you get closer, you can see some imperfections. Some surface rust here and there on the upper body, but nothing serious if you know what most other similar generation Alfas can have. The floor has some small amounts of rust, but honestly it is one of the best underbodies I have seen. The rockers(inner and outer) seem to only have a little bit of surface rust, and my fridge magnet check indicates no body filler. Certainly the car can be enjoyed as it is because the paint work looks very nice and when it comes time to do a restoration, I don't believe you will find surprises under the paint work. The biggest imperfection in the body is a paint crack at the bottom of the C-Pillar about 2 inches long. This crack remains in the same condition from the time the previous owner purchased the car from Autodelta in Perth.
- All bright work is in very good condition. The bumpers, window moldings, garnishes etc etc are in great condition. I remember going through the receipts and finding that a few years ago they were all removed and professionally polished. For those interested I can go through the mountain of receipts again to find the exact date.
Interior
-   Again in very good and original condition. The rear seat has some cracks in the upper portion due to sunlight damage, but this is a common problem. The driver seat base also has a couple of cracks in it, but I believe this can be repaired and does not need replacement. Other portions of the seats are perfect as you can see in the pics.
-   Dash has already been re-skinned and has no cracks. All gauges are working as they should.
-   All wood grain is original and considering the age, not bad. Replacement would definitely make it look new, but personally I like the aged look of woodgrain on a car like this.
-   Door cards, handles, mirrors, roof liner, etc  are all in very good condition.

Drivetrain
-   Probably the best thing about this car. It runs like a dream.  For the past two month I have driven the car about twice a week around the block(well a little further if no cops are reading this) and it runs great. During the time I was in Japan, my father started the car weekly and drove it around the block monthly.
-   The gearbox is super smooth with no crunching or hesitation in any gear.
-   Previously owner forked out good money for a custom exhaust. The exhaust looks nice and sounds fantastic.
-   I can't say enough good stuff about how it drives.

Apart from the above I think you simply need to just see the car. Any inspection or test is welcome.
My name is Joe, contact number is 0405-997-069, and I am looking to simply recoop what I paid, $13,000. I need this car gone in a few months, so if you are interested, make me an offer. Pictures are below...

Hi all,
Would like to invite any feedback regarding this car. Am I asking too much? Was my description too honest and scared people off?

It has been on the sight for about a week and only 2 people interested in seeing the car this week some time.
I guess I wanted to avoid putting it up on carsales.com as I would have prefered to pass this car on to an Alfa Club Member.

thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
Is the car registered and will it be sold with or without RWC?

JKaissar

Hi Chris,

No this car is not registered. It has been sitting in the garage all the time I have owened it. I was in the process of getting it ready to put on club plates when I found out I need to go overseas again. I will be selling without a roadworthy as I dont have the time to organise one.

thanks,
Joe

Car is now Sold  :-[
It was sad to see it go, but at least it went to a good home.
A nice gentlemen from Sydney flew over this morning and bought the car on the spot.
He plans to spend around 20-30k on it to restore it for his daughter.
A car with such a detailed history and original condition will be hard to come by again.
Wish it could have stayed in Victoria but for some reason no one here was interested.

Joe,

Congrats.... took time but at least it sounds like it will end up being looked after and restored.

Good news all around...

Cheers.
Speed costs money - how fast do you want to go?

Well done Joe. Fair to say this is not the best climate for selling a classic car!
Hope you find yourself back in the fold with another 105 Coupe in the future.
Another restored 105 on the road is good for everyone. ;D

It was sad seeing it trucked away in beautiful weather this morning.
