Hi All,

As per the below photo, some muppet has removed the two torsion springs/rods that run under the parcel shelf to the two bootlid hinges on my 105. I need to refit the two springs/rods, but I have no idea as to how they go in, or if I'm missing any clips or other fittings to make everything work properly.

Could some kind soul please take a few "up-and-under" photos inside their 105 boot to show how the bootlid hinges and rods all connect up so that I can try to solve this puzzle?

Regards,

Nick

Hi Mr Toad,

You, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman, and I can't believe I couldn't work it out without photos. Thanks very much for your time and effort... not to mention the lightning quick response.

Cheers,

Nick

Yes Mr Toad, indeed well done. All we need to know now is who supplies new boot springs? When the old ones go soft, the boot lid wont "pop" open when the cable is pulled.I've tried resetting the tension on them but it doesn't work.Any suggestion?........Regards....Ian

Hi McAnnik,

I noticed that the usual Alfa parts suppliers don't seem to stock replacement 105 bootlid hinge springs. Perhaps smaller spring manufacturing companies might be able to either re-tension the existing springs, or manufacture new ones given that they're not too complicated in terms of design. I found these guys on Google, but I haven't spoken to them.
