Up for sale is my 1989 75 3.0L with approx 201,000kms on the clock.

I have owned a few Alfa 75's before and can confidently say this is a very good example both cosmetically and mechanically. Owned by Alfa enthusiasts so it has always been looked after, it was in the Alfa club for many years before I owned it.

The bodywork is in very good condition, no rust, appears to be original paint but it has been touched up before in a couple areas, most likely due to fading which is common with acrylic red colours, there is no evidence of any accident damage repairs or the likes.

Mechanically it is also in very good condition and this is not my imagination, an Alfa specialist has checked the car over and agrees. There are no engine oil leaks or power steering fluid leaks. The engine I healthy and does not burn oil. It does not consume coolant and it runs cool. It has very healthy oil pressure (hot and cold).

The electrics are spot on, everything works as it should, 4 x power windows, sun roof, lights, warning control lights etc, however the drivers side power mirror doesn't seem to work (has manual adjustment),  the passenger side works.

The air conditioning works and it was ice cold last summer but I haven't run the air con for a while so will most likely need a re-gas for the upcoming summer.

The interior is very tidy, there are no rips, stains, cracks or broken fittings anywhere; it is as close to new condition as you could expect to find in a 1989 car.

This 75 is pretty much as it left the factory, with exception of the following:

17" wheels with 85% tread (comes with original wheels fitted with Yokohama A539 tyres)

Bilstien shocks and up-rated 27mm torsion bars , the rear has been lowered but the front is still standard height.

The rear exhaust has also been changed to a free-flow item, the middle and front section is factory standard, so all that needs to be replaced is the rear section if it is too loud for your tastes.

Major service just completed, including new wheel bearings at the front, spark plugs, coolant flush, oil and filter change so it is ready to go, perfectly suitable to be used as a daily driver.

The only reason im selling is that I need funds to finish off my long term 105 GTV project.

I will leave it up on the forums for a week or so and if no luck i will try carsales or ebay.

Yes, the car comes with original wheels in excellent condition with Yokohama A539 tyres with lots of tread left.

Fuel economy is very good for a 3L V6, of course it depends on how you drive it! Fuel economy is about the same as a 2L on carbs.

The 3L has good torque from low in the rev range so you don't need to rev it out as much as a 2.5L to get the same results.

Anyone from the forum is welcome to take it for an extended test drive  ;)

Looks superb. Good luck with the sale. If I didn't have one already, I'd be onto it!

^^ Pretty sure the driver mirror is always manual-only in all 75s. The electric control is only for the passenger side, despite the control having a switch to operate both sides; the control seems like a generic switch panel, as it's like the one in my 155 which does control L/R electrically.

Well there you go... now i can confidently say 100% of the electrics work as the factory intended, i think this is the first 80's Alfa i have owned where everything works, even the engine bay light works when opened  ;)

Sorry gents but you are both in possesion of a malfunctioning switch as mine works for both sides, admittedly the driver side does move ever so slowly, but it does move

My 1989 75 Potenziata only has a manual toggle on the driver's side. The same with my 1989 75 Twin Spark. I was also quite sure all the 75's were manual on the driver's side unless someone had installed an electric one sourced from a left hand drive car??
It would be interesting to know what specs the Australian delivered cars were?

shiny_car

Yes, I plan to change my manual driver mirror to electric. I have bought a power mirror from ebay overseas, as well as a blank sail panel trim, and will decipher the wiring when it's time to install.

Interesting. The mechanism inside the mirror is totally different between a manual and electric mirror, so it's one or the other. So if there's a 'manual' toggle knob, it's...a manual one. I don't imagine your electric one has a toggle knob then?

As suggested, perhaps your car was modified to an electric version.  8)

My '88 has no manual toggle. Methinks this discourse needs it's own thread, good luck with the sale Mike, looks a damn nice 75
