Hi,
I have recently sold my 1750GTV Mk1 to a mexican who fell in love with it at first sight and drove it home to Melbourne overnight.
I promised him I would furnish the build date. I have been unable to do this as I have been unable to contact the national register and Alfa have not answered my email.
The Body Number is AR1450135 Engine No. AR00548F3800 can anybody out there help?
I have always believed it is a late 68 or early 69.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Regards,
GTV1779

...and Alfa have not answered my email.

Check the email address you used for Alfa - it should be centrodocumentazione@alfaromeo.com (it changed a while back, and the old one doesn't work any more).  I got a same day response to a request just over a week ago.

For reference, your body number is earlier than ours which was built in December '68:
QuoteAccording to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1451729,
originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce RHD (105.45),
engine series AR 00548, manufactured on the 17th December 1968 and sold
on the 21st December 1968 to J. Wright & Sons from Melbourne, Australia.
The body colour is hawthorn white (AR 013), with black skai interiors.

There are some online scans of the Fusi reference here: http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/alfa-romeo-history/27900-scans-fusis-production-numbers-reference-not-dial-up-friendly.html#post235666

Which puts the car as a '68 10545 1750 GTV Guido Destra or CKD unit as a ballpark date.

There's apparently some issues here and there with Fusi's numbers - but the centrodocumentazione email will give you the full info.

Cheers,
Scott

That's interesting - Fusi's numbers would have our car as a 1970 build.

Thank you all for your quick and speedy replies I have sent an email to the address given which is different to the one on my home
AROCA page and await their reply. I have advised the new owner that he has a 1968 car.
Please welcome him when he joins the forum. Makes it easy to part with a car you have owned for 15years when the new owner has owned Alfas before and is real enthusiast and all round good bloke who realises that apart from the genuine GTA the GTV 1750 is the king of the 105's.
Thank you all for the help I have had from the forum over the last couple of years.
