I'll probably be corrected, but I do not believe any 1750 GTVs ever sold with a black plastic wheel.  That wheel also has much more deeply dished spokes than the 1750 GTV.

These are from a brochure I have:

The wheel might be off a similar year of spider?  The earlier 1600 GT and GTV had black plastic steering wheels, but more flat dished.  The later GT Juniors also had black plastic, but only two spokes.  Or something...

there are few other details that i am slightly puzzled with
did US 1750 come with big GTV2000 tail lights
did US 1750 come with hanging pedals (note the pedals and the booster, it is the big hanging pedal type)
the steering wheel does not look like GTV1750, it looks like spider
the door trim looks like a junior card with a mix of gtv2000 and 1750 handles
the instruments are jaeger, i was under impression that 1750 came with veglia
the c-pillar badge is correct series one 1750 (is it different for US models ? )
is that airconditioning that this car has (note the location of the alternator and the vents below the dash)

Hi, the reason i ask about the steering wheel is because mine is plastic, the car is a series one and i think it has been replaced at some stage, cheers

tony

series 1 cars had black plastic steering wheels, that car shown also has the wrong centre ,should be wood.Hope that helps Tony

I think i want a wooden one now,the plastic just doesn't suit the car with the woodgrain dashand console ;)

... and here i thought that series one GTV 1750 had wooden wheel with plastic center and series two GTV1750 had wooden wheel with wooden centre ...

As far as I know, hanging pedals/single booster were from US '71 model year onwards,  as were the big rear lights, (USA models only), and various cosmetic changes, mostley for the worst.
Steering wheel should be woodrim.
Yes, probably has air-con from alternator position and extra vents.

I'm voting for series TWO - the bumper overriders and extra switches and lights in the dashboard (to the left of the steering wheel) are consistent.  The seats are also series 2.  My series 1 GTV has a wooden wheel as do all I have seen.

Branko: I don't think the wooden centre is a series 2 thing - I've never worked out where they came from!?

Man - this is exactly the kind of thread I was hoping for when this forum was started  ;D

Hi Sportscar, I've got an orig. wooden 1750 steering wheel that is surplus to my needs if you are interested. It needs some work but would restore up well. It is from a 1750 GTV, as I believe Berlina and Spider may have had a slightly different dish.
What I need is a 1963-1966 1600 Giulia GT plastic steering wheel with an all black horn centre (like Giulietta's) and without the horn bars in the spokes. Preferably with out cracks. Anybody got one?

Hi all, went to monza motors today and bought some bits.
They had a GTA coupe there and it had a black steering wheel ,same as mine .
The one in my car is not a deep dish so this could be original,1750 sedans have a deep dish wheel. Its hard to tell in those brochure pics the wheel is deep dished or not.

Ths GTA there is a very nice replica built from a 1600 GTV sprint, the wheel is probably the original one on it.
As for series 1 1750, it should absolutley be a shallow dish woodrim, with black plastic centre hub.
