With the electric windows in my GTV6, the passenger window goes up quite well but is slow to wind down, the drivers window is OK to wind down but basically need to help it up with your hand.  the obvious answer is the motors are stuffed, but also suspecting voltage drop as a culprit.  Has anyone ever done something like relaying the windows to boost the voltage or found a readily available replacement motor or system to get them to work as expected?

The GTV6 is getting a bit old by now, like my 33, i had the same problem, except they went up slow, but came down quick, pull the door trims off and remove all the tops of the weather seals where the glass comes out of the door, then remove the glass and all the workings and give every thing a good clean, particulary the cables that move the glass up and down, put some silicone lubricant, because it won't harbour dust where WD40 will, give the weather strips a good clean with wax car wash, as the wax will remain and act as a lubricant, also sprinkle some talcolm powder on the glass guides in the sides of the doors, as it is a good lubricant, clean up any slides and scissor gears you come across, the motors are sealed units and cannot be pulled apart easily for fixing, and clean up any electrical connectors you come across, and see how it all goes, Colin.

Known and very common problem with 116 GTV's even when new.  As you say the most common cause is apparently voltage drops at the motor; I've heard in years past that the switches on the dash are often the culprit but suggest you do a search both here and on the Alfabb and GTV6 sites.  Reckon you'll get plenty of pointers there.

One of the major issues I've come across with 116 electronics is the lack of relays within the schematics. Haven't checked the schematics for your GTV, but I'd put money on it not having relays, hence the voltage drop causing the lack of power that you'd expect from the mechanism. Not to mention the electrical load being placed on the switches, inadequate wiring size, etc...Easiest and quickest way to see if your motors need retiring is to place the battery 12v directly to them and see if you get a better response.
Also as suggested, a good clean and lube goes a long way too.
